Palazzo Belmonte

Italy, Castellabate

Places to visit

The Doric Temples of Paestum and the archaeological sites of Pompeii, Herculaneum and Oplontis are always popular day trips for guests at Palazzo Belmonte.

The Amalfi Coast, with towns such as Vietri sul Mare, famous for its ceramics, Ravello with its beautiful Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone, and the delightful Positano provide an enjoyable day trip, as does the magnificent 14th Century Charter House of Padula (monastery) which lies inland.

The island of Capri, as well as Positano and Amalfi, can be reached by hydrofoil, private boat or helicopter.

The medieval hilltop village of Castellabate is a delight to explore.

Helicopter trips can be arranged to enjoy the most spectacular views of the Coast and places of interest further afield.

Palazzo Belmonte itself is wonderfully secluded with private, walled gardens. It is a short walk from the fishing village of Santa Maria di Castellabate with a lively quayside and weekly open-air market.

Private boat trips and picnic lunches can be arranged to Licosa, an extraordinary 6 km stretch of private coastline that is part of the Belmonte estate. Here, you will find crystal clear water ideal for snorkelling, pine woodlands by the sea for walks, and a superb stretch for cycling or for the enthusiastic jogger.

Available nearby:

• Scuba diving, sailing and windsurfing (with private tuition)
• Trekking
• Tennis courts
• Horse riding

You can also purchase tickets for the Ravello Music Festival through the Palazzo's Reception.
