Spanning over 500 miles of spectacular scenery around the perimeter of the North Highlands, the aptly named North Coast 500 route runs from Inverness along Scotland’s spectacular Western and Eastern coastlines, as far as John O’Groats and the Northernmost tip of mainland Britain.
En route you’ll find everything from historic castles and whisky distilleries, to breath-taking mountain ranges, windswept cliffs, miles of unspoiled beaches, and even the banks of the River Ness itself. What’s more, you’ll pass a number of Bespoke Hotels on your way, whether you choose to navigate the route clockwise or anti-clockwise, each of which makes an ideal resting post with exclusive one or two night packages available.
Beginning from The Tulloch Castle Hotel on the shores of the Cromarty Firth, explore the Black Isles before heading moving north, either via the Dornoch Hotel on the Eastern shore, or Scotland’s stunning and rugged West Coast.
Drop by The Caledonian Hotel in Ullapool and The Gairloch Hotel for its panoramic views across the sea to the Isle of Skye, before arriving at The Royal Hotel in Thurso to enjoy some of the finest beaches in the UK.
