bespoke Hotels welcomes the Spread Eagle. The Spread Eagle is in our 'befriends' section as befits a traditional coaching inn/hotel that has stood imposingly in the heart of THame, since the 16th century. It has played host to Charles !!, Franch prisoners from the Napoleonic wars, famous politicians and writers such as Evelyn Waugh.
There are currently 33 ensuite bedrooms, including 2 suites, a 65 seat brasserie and 3 conference rooms that can take up to 250 theatre style or 200 for a dinner dance with 7 rooms licenced for weddings.
Spread Eagle is managed by Peter Farquhar, who has spent the last five years working in country house hotels, including Haughton Hall in Shropshire, so he is fully aware of the service levels bespoke requires for its guests. Peter says, "this is a fantastic opportunity for all concerned following the acquisition by Art Hotels, who also own Fredricks and Pinewood, all managed by bespoke Hotels. Plans are afoot for redevelopment beginning with the restaurant, then the bedrooms and conference facilities to make it one of the best properties in the area."
