The Castle has achieved star status for many years and maintained belief in procuring the finest quality ingredients in order to ensure that the food is a real experience.

From traditional suppliers to entrepreneurial newcomers, the region offers an unrivalled selection of the finest speciality food and drink. Steve at S&C Meats in Taunton sends beef from the legendary Ruby Red Devon cattle. The fine marbling of the meat ensures that it cooks to melting perfection.

Phil Bowditch, the fish merchant runs his own trawler out of Brixham and his catches are delivered to the door ocean fresh.

Vegetables, salads, fruits and herbs are provided by John Rowswell who provides marvellous chemical-free produce from his market garden near Ilminster.

The brown bread is made using flour from organic English wheat, stone-ground just 30 miles from an original working water mill at Burcott, near Wells.
