...The thinking man’s Cotswolds!

Atop a gentle hillside overlooking three miles of the river Boyne, with its wonderful fishing, this funky hotel is setting the pace for new Irish style and old fashioned hospitality.

Cool interiors in a beautifully proportioned Palladian house, with a hip restaurant, creche, spa with two pools....the list goes on...just get on the next Ryan air flight to Dublin...it’s only half an hour from the airport.

Bellinter House is an Irish Country House on the Banks of the River Boyne in Co. Meath. Bellinter is chic, comfortable, and only a stone's throw from Dublin. The House has a laid back atmosphere which makes it ideal for relaxation, doing business or a bit of both.
It has 34 bedrooms. All have great big beds, crispy white linen sheets, big comfy pillows, and mini-bars stocked with goodies. Most have lovely baths to splash about in and all have power showers stocked with Voya organic seaweed products.

The vaulted cellar is home to Eden Restaurant, the Private Dining Room and The Wine Bar. A delicious menu of tasty snacks and light bites is also available in The Drawing Room all day every day.

The Bathhouse is where you will find seaweed baths and seven treatment rooms. There is a full range of massage, Uspa body treatments and facials available.

The House also has an indoor infinity pool, outdoor hot-tub, a steam room and a sauna (with floor to ceiling windows so don't forget your togs!).

Bellinter House was built in 1750 on the banks of the Boyne for a wealthy Anglo-Irish landowner. It was designed by the renowned German architect Richard Castle or Cassels, who also designed the Irish Parliament, Leinster House.

Within sight of the Hill of Tara, the ancient seat of the High Kings of Ireland, it was home to both the Briscoe and subsequently the Holdsworth families before being bought by the Sisters of Sion in 1965 who used the house as a conference centre and vegetable farm for nearly 40 years.

The restoration of Bellinter House, by designer Pierce Tynan, meticulously preserves its classic Georgian heritage while enhancing it with the best of modern Irish design.

Elaborate decorative plasterwork, marble fireplaces and wood panelled walls mix easily with elemental hand-made ash furniture, contemporary lighting and futuristic installation art.

The dramatic cantilevered spiral staircase is an unusual feature of the house and is one of only two remaining in Ireland and Britain. It is said that once one owner rode his horse up the staircase to win a bet. After reaching the top of the house, the horse refused to come down and spent three weeks in the attic before a beam and pulley could be put in place to lower him down to the ground floor.
